GE Uses Back to the Future DeLorean in a Commercial to Talk About Turbine-Generated Power
We’ve seen GE effectively use a NASA rover and KITT from Knight Rider to discuss jet engines and locomotives. These commercials are part of the brand’s Brilliant Machines advertising campaign launched in 2012. Again using 1980’s nostalgia, the company is promoting their turbine hardware and software using imagery from the Back to the Future movies. The new spot is called “The Future is Now” and features a flying DeLorean and the voice of actor Michael J. Fox.

Understanding the Scrap Yard of Life with Director Amanda Bluglass
Award-winning filmmaker Amanda Bluglass is a sculptor, literally and figuratively. Amanda crafts objects in her sculpture studio from pieces she finds in metal scrap yards. Likewise, the UK-based independent director crafts documentaries from unique stories. Life is a scrap yard of beautiful narratives and it is full of interesting people: from treasure hunting deep sea divers and gay and transgender ministers of the Presbyterian Church, to octagenarian punk rockers. Is Bot & Dolly’s “Box” the Future of Interactive Live Performances?
We’ve previously talked about Bot & Dolly using articulated robots to transform the job of the camera operator. We’ve also discussed the shots Bot & Dolly robots helped create for the movie Gravity. Filmed at their headquarters in San Francisco, California, Bot & Dolly released a short titled “Box”.
