From July 1st July 3rd, 150 years ago– or seven score and 10 years in Lincoln parlance– The Battle of Gettysburg was fought. A couple of months later, Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg address. We love Lincoln here at Unified Pop Theory. Last year, my wife and I made a little pilgrimage to Gettysburg during the 149th anniversary of the speech; Lincoln is her celebrity crush.
Over the years, many actors have portrayed the Great Emancipator, from Daniel Day-Lewis’ Oscar winning performance to Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure schtick.
