Ever since the Halo live action shorts that Neill did in 2007 he’s been on the radar. Then two years later he exploded onto the mainstream circuit with District 9 and it was fantastic. We’ve all been eager to see what he’s going to do next and that answer is here with Elysium.
Set in the year 2159, where the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of population reside on a ruined Earth, a man takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds.
They had a panel at the SDCC (San Diego Comic Con) which announced the movie with stars Matt Damon and Jodie Foster, plus a bunch of others you might recognize, like Michael Shanks of Stargate-1, Alice Braga (I am Legend), and one of my early child hood crushes, Talisa Soto (Mortal Kombat). There’s not a ton of info out yet besides a couple of interviews and the comic con panel, but from what’s been reported the movie already looks to be in great shape. Comes out in 2013 and I can’t wait.
